As you may know, Anne and Larry Gettings celebrate their golden wedding anniversary this year. That's right: my parents married each other 50 years ago, on August 31, 1963. For their 25th wedding anniversary, we made a VHS video which has been digitized. We will add to that footage to create a SURPRISE DVD for their 50th anniversary.
They once knew about this blog, but I don't think they or anyone else pays any attention to it, including me for the past couple of years. We sort of moved on to Facebook as a repository for content and cyber-socialization.
It's coming together. I supposedly can edit video from Mpeg4 format and other formats, and create an ISO image which can be burned to DVD using Avidemux software on my laptop. A local company, American Video, has already converted the Silver Anniversary VHS tape to Mpeg4.
I have way more ideas on this than time, but I'm hoping to pull a few things off:
- A montage of people wishing them a happy anniversary both by text and video.
- Pictures of the number and word, 50 and fifty as "bumpers" between scenes.
If I have the time, I'll try to post updates on the progress. I do expect to publish at least one more post here with the Call for DVD Content.
