Last weekend my sister Betsy came to visit us all the way from Puerto Rico, just to see me pregnant and to go baby furniture shopping with me. She arrived late on Thursday, and after leaving her with Andy on Friday while I was at work (and they took a bike ride!) we had a lovely dinner at home and watched "Into the Blue" (horrible movie, but Andy got to see Jessica Alba in a bikini and Betsy enjoyed all the ridiculously fit big Jamaican guys).

On Saturday we had a power breakfast and off we went furniture shopping. We went to the Baby Furniture Warehouse (BFW) in Reading, MA, and it was like going to Disney World :) LOTS of beautiful baby furniture. Some were pretty pricey, but I loved a crib that was on sale. Unfortunately it didn't have a matching chest of drawers, and there the indecision began. We went to Jordan’s furniture where they only had ~10 cribs and none were all that nice, went back to BFW and easily spent 2 more hours there without making a decision. I am so lucky to have such a patient sister!

Afterwards we went to the Nashua Mall, where there’s a Babies R Us. After devouring an awesome apple crisp with ice cream at Denny's to recharge our batteries, we went to Baby Depot (at the Burlington Coat Factory) without high expectations. They have beautiful stuff there! Betsy was so generous and she bought us the crib *and* 5 drawer dresser. It's one of those lifetime cribs (they convert to a full size bed), so I think BG will be able to use it for many, many years. It's really good quality, and I'm so happy to have the nursery looking a bit like a nursery already. We assembled everything on Sunday before Betsy left (pics).

It was so nice to have Betsy over, but unfortunately the trip was too short. I'm really happy that she's coming back for at least 3 weeks in September/beginning of October. I have always enjoyed playing dolls with her, and now we get to play for real!

Once again Hank helped us with the pickup of the furniture and bringing it to our house. He is a really good friend. Unfortunately he's going through a difficult time: his dad just passed away on Monday. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and all his family.

I'm going to Babies R Us today for a sale they're having. I can't stop shopping now! :)
